Bike It Now!’s EPIC TRAIL ADVENTURE is a fantastic, scenic biking tour encompassing the “Original” – Otago Central Rail Trail, the spectacular Roxburgh Gorge Trail and the riverside Clutha Gold Trail. Three totally different environments, 1 Epic Adventure!

What you get with Bike it Now!:

Hire of our Trek Roscoe 7 bike, with hydraulic disc brakes, 27+ wheels and tyres for the smoothest ride possible
Your bike hire comes with; helmet, gender specific saddle, 2 side mounted panniers, dual density gel seat covers and ergo grips. We also have great Merida Electric Bikes, Step Through and MTB style.
Accommodation with continental breakfast provided
All transfers including luggage
Transfers from Queenstown (1.5hrs) with informative commentary
Bike relocations

Suggested 7 day Epic Adventure Tour Itinerary

(Accommodation included below is Superior level)

Pre ride – 2pm collection by us from Queenstown with informative tour back to Clyde. Free use of bikes overnight with chance to explore Clyde, local trails and vineyards.

Then begin your trip;

Day 1 – 33kms Clyde to Lake Roxburgh Village via river track and the spectacular Roxburgh Gorge. (Overnight Lake Roxburgh Lodge)

Day 2 – 29kms Lake Roxburgh Village to Millers Flat via Roxburgh town and Pinders Pond. (Overnight The Quince Boutique B&B)

Day 3 – 44kms Millers Flat to Lawrence via Horseshoe Bend bridge and the Lonely Graves. Return to Clyde by shuttle for the evening. (Overnight Dunstan House)

Day 4 – 44kms Clyde to Omakau / Ophir via river track and Chatto Creek (Overnight Schist Rock)

Day 5 – 35.5kms Ophir / Omakau to Wedderburn – enjoy the stunning Poolburn Gorge (maybe try some curling late afternoon). (Overnight Wedderburn Lodge and Cottages)

Day 6 – 45kms Wedderburn to Hyde via the Rural Art Deco at Ranfurly. Then cycle the upper Taieri Gorge and enjoy another tunnel and viaduct. (Overnight Hyde School Accommodation and Eatery)

Day 7 – 27.5kms Hyde to Middlemarch, pass the site of one of NZ’s worst train disasters, then return to Clyde to further your journey or catch the shuttle to Dunedin airport or city.
